INTERNET – WiFi ACCESS

Access to the University’s wireless network, “BaronNet-Guest,” is available to all conference guests. If you experience any trouble, call Guest Services at 740-283-6801.

LOST AND FOUND

The Lost and Found is located at the J. C. Williams Center Information Desk throughout the scheduled conference. Items in Lost and Found must be claimed within two weeks of the close of the conference. After that time, the return of lost items is not guaranteed. If you realize after the conference that you have lost something, please call 740-283-3771.

 

Housing | Showers & Restrooms

Youth and Adult Chaperone Housing

Youth and chaperones will be housed in the same proximity, under the same roof, but will not be expected to share sleeping quarters (i.e. bedrooms). If your diocesan policy does not allow for youth and adults to be housed under the same roof, your group must stay off campus.

In the Evenings:

Your Housing Hosts are located on the first floor of your residence hall. They are available throughout the weekend should you need anything.

Lockdown

Make sure to take everything that you will need for the day with you when you leave for breakfast or the Morning Session, as all residence halls will be closed at 8:30 a.m. and will not open again until after the evening session.

You will not be permitted to enter the dorms during the day.

Expectations

Members of the opposite sex are not permitted in each other’s sleeping facilities.

Food in the residence halls is permitted, BUT please make sure to clean up after eating.

Do not move the furniture.

Leave a clear aisle from your door to your window for safety reasons. Additionally, do not open or otherwise touch the windows. No yelling out of or climbing through residence hall windows.

Everyone is to be in the dorms by midnight; do not leave the residence hall after this time.

Lights out is at 12:30 a.m.; Housing Hosts will announce this.

Please keep quiet after lights out. Group Leaders are responsible for the noise level of their youth.

No horseplay or excessive noise in residence hall restrooms.

No removing, damaging, or vandalizing signs or residence hall property.

Only main doors are to be used for entrance/exit throughout the weekend.

Close the curtains when changing.

Smoking and the use of candles is prohibited in all facilities.

Leave no trash behind; trash cans are available for your use during check out.

In order to abide more effectively by the Diocese of Steubenville’s Child Protection policies, all occupied rooms will be labeled with the Group Leader’s last name and the respective occupants, i.e. adult chaperone or youth. This will help us keep all participants safe and also help us find the respective Group Leaders and chaperones more quickly in case of emergency.  All guests may shower in the provided bathrooms in the assigned residence halls. Please note: Restrooms are designated by “Adult Chaperone” and “Youth” respectively, in order to adhere to Safe Environment standards.

Priest Housing

Priests will be housed separately from all other conference guests. These units are air conditioned.

Showers & Restrooms 

In the residence halls, all guests may shower in the provided bathrooms in the assigned residence halls. Please note, restrooms are designated by “Adult Chaperone” and “Youth” respectively, in order to adhere to Safe Environment standards. 

Residence Halls

For issues with Storm Cards or residence halls, please contact the Office of Conference Services at 718-990-7300. Staff will be available during the entire conference weekend. Males are not allowed in the female dorms; females are not allowed in the male dorms. Exceptions can be made for group leaders and chaperones if there is a teen in need from your group. Be sure to have a chaperone of the opposite sex escort you through the dorm.

Emergency Contact

For emergencies 24 hours a day, call St. John’s Public Safety at 718-990-5252. They will call 911. For less urgent matters needing Public Safety call 718-990-6281, or call 860-460-3947 to reach the site coordinator, Jill Patten. Families may leave messages by calling the group leader.  

Dining Halls

Groups will be assigned to a specific dining hall for the weekend. Participants with Red, Orange, and Yellow wristbands will eat at Montgoris Dining Hall. Those with Green, Blue, and Violet wristbands will eat at Marillac Dining Hall. On Friday night, a BBQ dinner will be served for all on the plaza in front of Carnesecca Arena, weather permittingDuring open dining, groups can choose which time to go to the dining hall. Group leaders should take caution in arriving late to breakfast, as they could miss the meal or start of session if other groups choose to do the same. 

Arena Seating

To seat everyone fairly, we rotate seating sections throughout the weekend. Seating assignments are listed in the app, and ushers will be able to assist you to your section (floor, courtside seats, and arena level seats.) This will give every group the opportunity to sit in the “choice seats.” Seating is open for the workshops. 

Smoking Policy

The University of San Diego is a smoke free campus.  Smoking is allowed on the city sidewalk of Linda Vista Road. During the sessions we ask all participants, including adult chaperones, to refrain from smoking. 

Lost & Found

This is located at the Information Desk outside of the Jenny Craig Pavilion.  If you realize after the conference that you lost something, call 740-317-5299 within 2 weeks to claim your items.

Dress Code | Wristbands

Dress Code

All guests, including adults, are expected to dress appropriately in modest attire. Low-cut tops, miniskirts, short shorts, or clothing with offensive language or obscene pictures are not permitted.


Wristbands

Always wear your conference wristbands on your wrist. They are your admission to all sessions and meals and are needed for security/emergency purposes. If you lose or break your wristband(s), go to the Information Desk, located in the plaza of the JCP, with a chaperone. There is a $5 replacement fee per wristband.

 

Chapel

The Eucharistic Chapel is open during conference hours and closes at 10pm.  It is located on the 2nd floor of the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

Marketplace

The Marketplace is located on the plaza in front of the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

For emergencies 24 hours a day, call Public Safety at 619-260-2222. They will call 911. For less urgent matters, needing Public Safety call 619-260-7777 or call 740-317-5299 to reach the Christian Outreach Office staff. Families may leave messages by calling 740-317-5299.


First Aid

For all non-emergency first-aid needs, please go to the First Aid Station located in the Jenny Craig Pavilion. Hours are during conference sessions.  Youth requiring first-aid must be accompanied by an adult. 

Rules & Regulations | Dress Code

The San Ramon Marriott hours of operation are 24 hours, however, Steubenville hotel conference areas hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Groups will not be allowed in these areas except during those hours. All participants are to vacate the Steubenville hotel conference premises by 11:00 p.m. Thank you for your cooperation. 

Another event will start taking place during Steubenville NorCal in nearby conference rooms on Sunday, July 28th. Participants are not encouraged to attend the other events taking place as other guests will not be joining the Steubenville Conference either.

Smoking Policy | Evacuation Plan

SMOKING POLICY

Please comply with all state, county, and San Ramon City Laws, and Marriott Policies.  Minors (anyone under the age of 18) are not permitted to smoke via vaping, marijuana, e-cigarettes, pipes, cigars, or cigarettes. Failure to comply may result in removal from the conference. Adults must use the designated smoking areas at all times. 


EVACUATION PLAN

While we do not anticipate an emergency, in case of one, please follow all properly marked signage and exit the indoor facilities to the main parking lot.

First Aid | Emergency Contact

FIRST AID

For all medical needs, please go to the First-Aid Station located in the San Ramon Boardroom or call Mary Delahunty at 415-497-6874. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Youth requiring first aid must be accompanied by an adult. Medication requiring refrigeration should be checked in with the nursing staff.


EMERGENCY CONTACT

In case of an emergency, dial 911. For non-emergencies 24 hours a day, call Luis at 925-325-0415. Families may leave messages by calling their youth minister/group leaders.

Wristbands | Chaperone Responsibilities

WRISTBANDS

Every participant will be given a wristband upon registration. This wristband is to be worn at all times, as it marks who is with our conference. Each group will have the opportunity for “premiere” seating throughout the weekend. Please check at Registration to determine which colored wristband receives which seating assignment at the designated time. You will not be admitted into the auditorium or receive your meals without a wristband. If you lose or damage your wristband, please bring a chaperone with you to the Registration Table found in the Contra Costa Patio.


CHAPERONE RESPONSIBILITIES

Please ensure the safety and participation of your teenagers throughout this weekend. You are the first point of contact for your teenagers, and we are here to help you in becoming the best minister to them. More details of the group leaders responsibilities will be emailed a few weeks before the conference and discussed at the Group Leader Meeting on Friday of the conference.

Chapel

The Chapel is located in Contra Costa/Salon 2 which is to the left of the main entrance of the main auditorium. We invite you to visit the Blessed Sacrament Chapel during its open hours to reflect, rest, and be restored. We ask all to refrain from talking in the chapel.

UCSD | Housing & Transportation

All guests of Steubenville 2:42 and noted groups for Steubenville San Diego will be housed on the campus of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). You will receive your housing assignment when you arrive at the University of San Diego (USD), for check-in.

  • If you are housed on the Warren College, click here for directions. Near the cross street of Voigt and Justice; near Parking Area P506. 
  • If you are housed on the Sixth College, click here for directions. Near the cross street of Villa La Jolla and Gilman Drive; next to Parking Area P406. 

PLEASE NOTE: You cannot check into your dorm until 10pm on Friday (after the days activities).

Session Entry

All of the Sessions, Liturgies and Keynotes will take place in the Marriott Ballroom. Seating for sessions will be selected by the color of the groups’ wristbands. We do our very best to accommodate everyone’s requests so please comply lovingly and accordingly.

Arrival | Bus Drivers

Please use the address: 2600 Bishop Dr, San Ramon, CA 94583 when driving to the San Ramon Marriott.

Buses will be asked to proceed through the parking lot gate boom barrier. This is the only parking lot at which buses are permitted to pick up and drop off.

Check-In | Group Leader Meeting

CHECK-IN

Registration is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is located at the Contra Costa Patio. Please only send a group leader an/or a chaperone for aiding in registration. All groups should have submitted their teens’ registration to Life Teen by now. If you have any changes, please bring them with you to registration. In order to expedite this process, we will have wristbands divided by colors (chaperone and participant).


GROUP LEADER MEETING

The Group Leader Meeting will be held in the Contra Costa Salon from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. At registration you will receive a Group Leader Packet. Please read and review the important information contained within it.
